So, I have some news. I’m thrilled to announce that I’ll be joining the Associated Press - NORC Center for Public Affairs Research as a Senior Research Scientist. I’ll start part-time on September 12 to allow me to finish my current projects:
- The Digital Trust Foundation-funded Measuring Cyberstalking and Digital Domestic Abuse Across the Lifespan project that I’m leading at Data & Society.
- A Knight-funded exploratory study on youth and mobile and chat-app-based news consumption practices,
- A Silicon Valley Community Foundation-funded effort, in collaboration with New America and the Joan Ganz Cooney Center at the Sesame Workshop, to understand the educational technology ecosystem for very young children (0-9) in Silicon Valley.
I’ll join AP-NORC full-time in January and will work out of the Bethesda, MD office.
One of the things that especially attracted me to AP-NORC besides the opportunity to work with great people was the chance to work closely with the AmeriSpeak panel. I’ve been deeply impressed with what I’ve learned about the quality of the panel and care taken with panelists, and I’m especially eager to begin working with the teen panel that they have developed. I’m also eager to work with great outside partners interested in doing stellar work in the public interest on topics around youth, media and technology. Feel to reach out to me through this website if you’d like to talk about working together.
